Our Camps

Our Programs include kids with a wide range of serious illnesses, including heart disease, cancer, cystic fibrosis, Crohn’s disease, kidney failure, and much more. Whether newly diagnosed or many years into the journey, we invite you to become part of the Cavett Kids family.

Ski Camp

Since the early 1980’s Cavett Kids has hosted an annual ski trip! This trip allows our teens to learn a new skill, experience the snow-covered mountains, and best of all- connect with other teens in a similar battle! Campers will enjoy a full weekend of skiing, winter activities, and bonding in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

Beach Bash

Thanks to a generous grant from the Aldridge Foundation, 20 teens will have the opportunity to kick off the summer at a luxurious beach house on the shores of Pensacola Beach, FL. In addition to spending time on the beach, other activities may include souvenir shopping, kayaking, dolphin tours, and riding jet skis. All campers will fly together out of the Oklahoma City airport.

Discovery Camp

Discovery Camp is designed just for our younger campers ages 8-12. A variety of traditional summer camp activities are available including swimming, fishing, canoeing, zip lining, and archery. This camp session is limited to 40 campers and is a great introduction to our camp programs.

Connections

Our Connections camp is designed for teens ages 13-18 who have been diagnosed with any chronic or life-threatening illness. This camp offers a variety of traditional summer camp activities and focuses on connecting campers with other teens who have a similar illness.

Mountain Madness

Our annual trip to Angel Fire, NM is open to teens ages 16-18 who have been diagnosed with a chronic or life-threatening illness. Nestled in the base of the Rocky Mountains, our group stays in the beautiful Snowball Lodge near Angel Fire Resort. Campers participate in a variety of outdoor activities including whitewater rafting on the Rio Grande, guided UTV tours through the Carson National Forest, and much more.

Camp Cavett

Our largest camp of the year, Camp Cavett, is located at New Life Ranch’s Frontier Cove site and is open to children and teenagers ages 8-18 who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness. This camp will take you back in time to a town in the old west and offers traditional summer camp activities like archery, horseback riding, fishing, bb gun shooting, boating and tubing, a swimming pool with a water slide, a ropes course, and much more! Bus transportation to this camp is provided from Oklahoma City.

Camper Qualifications

Ages 8-18 who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness.

Volunteer Qualifications

A limited number of volunteer positions are available for adults ages 19 and older. Those who wish to serve as volunteer medical professionals, cabin counselors, Leaders In Training (age 19-22) and in other general volunteer positions are invited to apply. Volunteers must fill out an online application, provide references, pass a background check, complete an interview, attend pre-camp training, and be present the entire week of camp.

 
 

Leadership Camp

While we all love some fun in the sun at camp, we also value the importance of building leadership skills and learning to serve others. This is exactly what we do at Leadership Camp! This camp consists of 40 elite teenage campers who promote our core values and exemplify the character of a true leader and humble servant. Located at Cross Point Camp on Lake Texoma, campers will be challenged through hands-on activities intended to develop a variety of crucial leadership skills, habits, and attitudes.
